If so, not really. This is just an Area 51-ish conspiracy story, more or less. Might send the main character into an ethical dilemma about what his saviors require of him in exchange for the maintenance needs of his cyberbody.
Not sure yet, somewhat distracted this week by more unbelievable fictions like having to replace a dead washing machine. Life.

|Where this story could go||This story began as ruminations while I was out backpacking and thinking about the four threatening species one has to contend with on the Appalachian Trail. Black bears are biggest, but hardly worth mentioning other than to keep a clean campsite and avoid threatening them. Of the couple of vipers are present, only the timber rattler presents a hazard unless one is careless of where one puts one's hands and one's feet, and it makes its presence known very distinctively.||23 Nov 2019 22:10|

This also extends to overseas intelligence gathering on international organized crime.
